Rooms For Creative People
Hello, I’m Catherine – a musician, teacher, and the founder of Room for Creatives. Most days you’ll find me teaching flute and music theory, mentoring in local schools, or organising musical events – from chamber groups to larger ensembles – often in collaboration with other local teachers and performers. I also enjoy performing myself, especially at community and charity events, and I’m a big believer in the power of shared creativity.
Room for Creatives began in 2022 when I started hiring out two rooms in our family home for friends to use for teaching, rehearsals, and creative workshops. I’d realised there were few affordable, welcoming spaces for artists and teachers to work from – and I wanted to change that. The feedback was so positive that the idea naturally grew into something more.
I remain actively involved in the local community – whether through music, a book club, or the charity letter-writing group I host. That spirit of connection and creativity is at the heart of Room for Creatives: a friendly, supportive environment for musicians, teachers, and solo creatives to do their best work.
